To complete this order for the SMARTnet contract the following information is needed:
Install Site (Company name and address)
Contact name, e-mail address, and phone number
Product information for which the contract is being purchased (Name of product, model number, and serial number*)
*If the product for which you are purchasing the SMARTnet contract is on the same order then the serial number is not needed.
You must purchase the corresponding service category that is assigned to the product. For example if purchasing 8x5xNBD support for a Catalyst 2950 12-Port Switch (WS-C2950-12) which has a service category 1 rating, you must purchase the 8x5xNBD service category 1. If you are unsure of the service category of a product, please call the sales department at 1-800-336-1166.

Advance replacement of hardware (Three delivery options are available, depending on response time requirements-see below for details)
SMARTnet 8 x 5 x NBD - Entitlements of SMARTnet service as shown previously; Guaranteed delivery of hardware replacement parts the next business day, provided that the request is received before 3:00 p.m. local time.
General Information
SMARTnet support provides customers with software updates and upgrades, registered access to Cisco Connection Online (CCO), advance replacement of hardware, and technical support. Cisco systems developed SMARTnet services to meet the maintenance requirements of customers with internal maintenance support staff. (Customers without sufficient staff to perform hardware maintenance should consider SMARTnet Onsite.)
Cisco can respond quickly to changes in networking environments and provide low-cost, immediate Cisco IOS software updates, thus enhancing and extending its life. SMARTnet provides automatic updates of all major releases, with sophisticated upgrade planning processes, as well as maintenance fixes. Through CCO, these updates are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
CCO is Cisco's industry-leading online support and information service, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. CCO provides users with a wealth of up-to-date information with hundreds of new documents being added or updated each month. And CCO provides the most comprehensive collection of online technical resources in the industry.
The Cisco TAC is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be contact ed via the telephone or electronic mail. It is staffed by customer engineers who have experience with the Cisco product line and all aspects of data communications networking technology.
In the event of hardware failure, the SMARTnet Advance Replacement feature provides a hardware replacement unit delivered within 24 hours of receiving the request (please see Delivery Options for details on additional response times available).
